Kelpvane was established in Bang Lamung, Chon Buri in 2018 by a small group of educators and financial practitioners who noticed a persistent gap: many individuals in the region had access to financial products, but little foundational knowledge to evaluate them thoughtfully.
Rather than offering advice or selling products, the founders chose a different path — building structured educational programs that treat participants as capable adults who simply need clear, well-organised information delivered at a manageable pace.
Over the years, Kelpvane has refined its curriculum through continuous feedback from participants, staying closely attuned to the financial realities faced by individuals and families across the Chon Buri area and broader eastern Thailand.
Today, three core programs form the backbone of what we offer — each developed to address a specific stage of financial literacy, from vocabulary building through to portfolio concepts.

Araya Phommin
Lead Educator & Co-founder
Araya spent over a decade in retail banking before moving into education. She leads the Financial Vocabulary Builder program and oversees curriculum development across all three offerings.
Somsak Kaewchan
Senior Instructor, Portfolio Programs
Somsak brings a background in asset management to his role at Kelpvane. He leads the Portfolio Concept Workshop and brings measured, practical insight to discussions of investment theory.
Narisara Thongdee
Program Coordinator & Instructor
Narisara manages day-to-day program logistics and co-facilitates the Smart Spending Framework. Her background in personal finance coaching shapes how Kelpvane designs participant-facing materials.
How We Maintain Quality
Our programs follow a set of consistent standards that keep content rigorous, delivery respectful, and participant experience constructive.
Annual Curriculum Review
All program materials are reviewed annually against current Thai financial regulations, product offerings, and participant feedback to remain relevant and accurate.
Small Group Sizes
We cap each session cohort at eight participants. This allows instructors to respond to individual questions and maintain a pace suited to the group's needs.
No Product Recommendations
Kelpvane maintains a strict policy of not recommending specific financial products, institutions, or investment vehicles. Our content focuses on concepts, not commercial decisions.
Participant Privacy
Personal information shared during sessions remains confidential. We do not share participant data with third parties, financial institutions, or marketing networks.
Post-Session Feedback
Every session concludes with a short feedback form. Responses inform material adjustments and are reviewed quarterly by our curriculum team.
Balanced Perspectives
When covering topics where opinions differ among financial professionals, we present multiple perspectives rather than advocating for one approach. Participants are encouraged to draw their own conclusions.
Financial Literacy Education in Eastern Thailand
Kelpvane operates within the financial education landscape of eastern Thailand, a region characterised by a diverse mix of residents — Thai nationals, long-term expatriates, and working professionals from across Southeast Asia. The financial considerations faced by individuals in this area span a wide range: navigating Thai banking structures, understanding insurance options, interpreting investment terminology, and building sensible spending habits in a context where digital payments and informal credit markets exist side by side.
Our programs are not designed for financial professionals or those already fluent in economic terminology. They are designed for adults who recognise gaps in their financial knowledge and want to address those gaps in a structured, low-pressure setting. The focus is on comprehension before action — understanding what a term means, how a concept works, and what questions to ask before making a decision.
Working from our location in Bang Lamung, Kelpvane has developed close familiarity with the specific financial environment of the Chon Buri province and the wider eastern seaboard. This local knowledge informs how we contextualise general financial concepts — tax treatment, banking fees, currency considerations, and the particular concerns that arise in communities with high proportions of international residents.
The three programs we offer represent a deliberate progression: building vocabulary, developing spending awareness, and then approaching portfolio concepts — each stage building logically on the one before. Participants who complete all three programs leave with a coherent, practically oriented understanding of personal finance that equips them to engage meaningfully with licensed advisors and make more considered decisions.
